Summer is here with hair-raising, humid days that send our strands into a spiral. As hot as it is outside I am in much need of some hair inspiration. But no worries! Our friends at Elle.com have rounded up the hottest hairstyles for Summer 2010 — ones that fashion-forward stars are already rocking. From texturized, wavy bobs to ballerina buns to messy, side braids, you definitely won’t get bored with these sizzling summer hairdos. Check them out!

Boho-chic fashionista Nicole Richie rocks a messy side-braid effortlessly. The plaited do from the Miu Miu and Alexander Wang spring runways has also been worn by Rachel McAdams and Kate Bosworth.

Beach waves are always fun for summer, mac makeup wholesale, but as the spring and fall catwalks proved, straight strands like Reese Witherspoon’s are back. Just be sure to soften flatironed tresses by adding a touch of volume and/or wispy bangs to avoid an overly harsh look.

As Rachel McAdams demonstrates, a ballerina bun is ideal for showing off shoulders and statement earrings. The classic updo experienced a resurgence on the spring runways, where legendary dancer Martha Graham served as inspiration at Marc Jacobs and Zac Posen.

The grown-out-bob is in—but Anne Hathaway is the only actress with this style who had a bob to begin with! Emily Blunt and Kate Beckinsale (shown above) got their long locks specially cut and coiffed to appear this way.

Lanvin’s spring 2010 show made high buns chic-and Jessica Alba is just one of a handful of stars who have embraced this warm-weather-ready do (see Whitney Port, January Jones, and Kate Bosworth, mac makeup, to name a few).

While faux pixies reigned on Giorgio Armani’s spring 2010 runway, It Girl Carey Mulligan and her Twiggy-esque do have been ruling the red carpet.

Milly by Michelle Smith’s spring 2010 punk-meets-prep collection was punctuated by girly side-ponies. Showcasing this sideswept look just right: reality-TV star turned author Lauren Conrad. This is one of my personal favorites.

Top runway hairstylists say matte hair is in, and it must be—trendsetter Ashley Olsen recently flaunted the high-fashion finish at an event. Even more telling: Hair industry giant Redken launched several productsdesigned to achieve this nonshiny, velvety-smooth texture.

If you are looking for a new style for summer I hope this helped!

What is Lampwork (Part One) redtagcrazy.com blog

My hometown high school participates in this thing called “senior project”.  Well, I shouldn’t say “participates”; rather, they force their students to complete a senior project in order to graduate high school.  When I first caught wind of this “senior project” business, I was SO against it.  I mean, how do you determine whether someone should or should not graduate by evaluating how well (or not so well), they complete this “senior project”.  I mean, this is 13 years of school we’re talking about, all riding on this one project, that might I had, SUCKED ASS!   However, I lived with an English teacher, who taught seniors, so, I was screwed.

You may know what I am talking about, many schools across the nation are participating in the senior project; and the bandwagon is growing with each passing year.  If you are not familiar with this, I will attempt to give a brief overview of the project, at least from my experience.

The beginning: You begin the project your junior year in high school.  The main objective is to either make something, learn to do something, organize a charity drive, do some type of community service… you get the picture.  But wait.  It is not that easy.  You’re thinking, oh, well I will just pretend like I did this charity drive and forge the signatures and stage fake pictures to turn in with my display board. Oh no. Not that easy, baby.

First: you write a letter of intent.  This states what you wish to do for your project, and who you have chosen for your mentor.  Your letter then goes before a board of “senior project analysts” and they decide whether your project is suitable or not.  If your project is denied, you have to think of something else, submit another letter, so on and so forth.  If your letter is accepted, you go on to step two.

Step two: you pick your mentor. They must write a letter, stating that you will be working with them throughout the entire project, and they must sign the letter and mail it to the school.

Step three: You will be given a log sheet. This is where you are to write the amount of time you spend preparing and actually “doing” your project. Your mentor must sign off on each of your log in dates.  You must also include the amount of money you spent (if any).

Mental note: each of these steps is due by a very strict deadline date.

Next: After doing ALL OF THAT, you must write a detailed “how to” research paper. This includes 3 rough drafts that are all required, and counted as test grades. Your paper must be written in a manner where your directions can be followed step by step, in order to obtain the exact results as you achieved.

Lastly: you create a display board, which includes pictures of your project, including the steps you went through when creating/doing it.  Also, you must bring your actual project, mac makeup wholesale, and display it with your board.  Example: if you built a bird house, bring the bird house.  If you conducted a clothing drive, bring a box of clothes.  The board will be on display for an entire weekend, while panels of judges walk around, grading and critiquing them.

The REAL last step: After having your work critiqued, you must go before ANOTHER panel of judges and present your project and display board in speech format.

Okay, I lied- I promise this is the last part:  you graduate (hopefully)

So, assuming that you are all DIEING to know what I did for my project, I am going to tell you.  And by tell you, I mean, wholesale mac makeup, I am going to give you a detailed step by step description of the process, just in case any of you want to try doing this one day.

Okay, are you ready?  I learned how………………….. To make beads.

What?! Beads? What the hell are you talking about?

It is referred to as: Lampwork and it is amazing.  Yeah, I did things the right way. I wasn’t going to suffer for two years doing some lame project like build a shooting house, or teach a kid to play football.  I decided to go for something I really wanted to do and that was exactly what I did.

If you are not familiar with Lampwork, cheap mac makeup, I am sure you are familiar with those glass beads that people wear on hemp necklaces?  If so, those are what I learned how to make.  My final project consisted of 9 beads, which were all different shapes, colors and sizes, and although 9 does not seem like very many, let me tell you, I was the proudest senior walking across that stage graduation day.  Lampwork is not a very easy task to conquer, but it is so much fun, and I encourage you all to try it someday.

Stay tuned, and I will begin teaching you how to make your very own beads out of melted glass! This is going to be so much more fun than senior year…

I am proud to say I have been a part of RTC from the very beginning. I stumbled upon them when I was on a great site called the Budget Babe. They made a mention of this cute new site and had a picture of the black DVB jeans up on their site. I decided to check it out and the rest is history. I am the proud owner of 43 RTC items. I decided to get some pictures put up of a few of the items, cheap mac makeup, since it helps me so much to see pictures that everyone else puts up.

1. Lucky guitar shirt in size small: This color is CORAL. For some reason when in a picture it comes up orange or reddish color, but it is coral. Very soft and wonderful feel to it. This was actually my first purchase on RTC. THIS SHIRT IS TRUE TO SIZE.

2. Zlush Johnny Cash t-shirt in size small: I HEART Johnny Cash and so I had to grab this baby up. This shirt RUNS SUPER SMALL and I would recommend going up a size or two. Very soft and has a sturdy feel to it.

3. LinQ blue striped polo shirt size small: This is one of the newer linQ items and I believe it is sold out, but for you ladies that have this one in your cart this is how it looks. It is super thin and soft. Very breathable material and I could definitely GO DOWN IN SIZE in this shirt. It is super roomy. My husband LOVES this shirt.

4.  Aude lemonade razor back tank top in size 1: This tank top is so comfy. I feel that it is TRUE TO SIZE. It really does a great job of showing off the arms, back and chest. My only problem with this shirt is finding a bra that does not poke out from under it. I think layering this tank would solve that problem easily though. I also got the violet, but I really favor the lemonade.

5. Paige Benedict Canyon in light clean size 27: I heart these like crazy. They are wonderful. My husband has tied these in first place with my AG jeans as his favorite denim on my ass. They are TRUE TO SIZE IN MY OPINION. Some people have mentioned a gaping in the back, wholesale mac makeup, but really I don’t care because everything else makes them perfect.

6. Linq purple skirt in small: I have not seen any pictures up of this skirt so I wanted to show off how beautiful this skirt is on a woman. The color is gorgeous and is super soft. Do not worry about this skirt being true to size or not because really it is stretchy and form fitting to the body. I also have this in the red. Every woman should have at least one of the Linq skirts being offered here at RTC.

These are a few of my wonderful goodies from RTC.

Erica’s August Package — BB Dakota redtagcrazy.com blog

I’ve just realized that this is one of my biggest blog series from a shipment, because I am keeping so much of it. Yes, there will definitely be returns, but I still wound up with a hefty loot. I’ve also only just recently noticed the “Value” indicator at the top of the packing slip, totalling the value of all of your items. Holy, my number was a BIG number this time. But anyway, back to the point. This blog will feature all of the lovely BB Dakota items, which for the most part, I fell in love with.

BB Dakota Edmonds Shirt, Pink, Large

I will admit it. I waffled on this top for a while when it first came up,cheap mac makeup, especially because I wasn’t sure what color to get. I was drawn to the black, but Ashley convinced me that I have PLENTY of black and needed a little color in my life. She was right. This top is hands down, amazing. I will say that the material is way thicker than I ever would have imagined, so I probably wouldn’t be busting this out in the sweltering heat. I love the ruffles, and I love everything about this top. I find that it is very slimming and flattering. Definitely a keeper.I want the other colors, too. I may resist on getting those though, because when you have a top this unique, I’m not sure getting it in a bunch of different colors will help my cause.

BB Dakota Samantha Halter, Coral, Large

I am a little iffy on this one, but I decided I’m going to keep it because I love the thick long straps, and I love the ruffly front. This isn’t the best photo of the top because I have some post-dinner pooch going on, but whatever. I found the length to be a little awkward for some reason? I’m not sure why. It feels like it can’t decide if it wants to be short or long. The color is really pretty though, and when a hot day rolls around, a tank like this is always something good to have.

BB Dakota Crawford Dress, Black, mac makeup, Large

When I saw this dress come up, all kinds of crazy alarm bells went off in my head telling me to BUY IT as soon as the admins miraculously pulled out tons of extra sizes. Only after the fact did I realize that it was a pencil dress, which historically, does not do that much for me. But you all know, I take my gambles on RTC, so I left it as is. Besides, I was on a hunt for a new LBD. So the verdict? Probably my favorite dress ever. (I know, I know. I keep saying that!!) It is so simple, classy, and chic. The only thing is that I may need to get the top altered just a little bit, as the straps are slightly loose and the dress is a little big around the chest. I will do whatever it takes. This dress is a winner.

Not Pictured: BB Dakota Eco Shirt, Purple, Medium

The description said to size up for comfort. What was I thinking in trying to size down?? I started to put this over my head and then realized, no way. It is not even going past the shoulders. Forget it. It is really gorgeous though!

This was my first time trying anything from the BB Dakota brand. I know that it may not be as high-end as many other brands out there, but I think they have some really funky, quality, mac makeup wholesale, unique stuff. I’ve gotta say. I am a big fan of these pieces.

My Signature Style The Evolution redtagcrazy.com blog

Posted on 19th May 2012 in News

redtagcrazy.com

current sale alerts blog my account

Although I have made some extremely questionable choices in my fashionable (and not-so-fashionable) past, without question, I have always had a very strong sense of what I wanted my fashion statement to be, and I have always had a certain piece, trend or style that wholeheartedly defined “me” at any given point in my life. I do not think I fell square into one category (i.e., preppy, goth, athletic [which, for the record, is NOT me], etc.) that was notoriously rampant in the high school scene, because I liked to bend those boundaries, mix genres, and select the pieces I liked from each. Like anything, sometimes it worked, and sometimes it didn’t. However, my absolute number-one rule, which I still employ today, was that under no circumstances could I walk out the door looking like a clone of anybody else.

When I first approached the idea for this blog, I thought I was going to set out to prove how RTC has revolutionized my style from all the years past. But, as I was thinking about how my style has drastically changed over the years (thanks to the real world and Corporate America), I actually came to realize that all of those pieces I liked in the past still subtly find a place in my current wardrobe today. So really, RTC has helped me redefine all of those things that have defined ME throughout the years, which I thought was pretty cool, fun, cheap mac makeup, and exciting.

Here are some (but not all) of the things that have constructed my fashion persona over the years, and how RTC keeps them living on.

Extreme Bell Bottoms

I remember my freshman year of high school, I was obsessed with L.E.I. and Mudd Super Bell bottoms. The bigger, the better. Did they look good? Well, actually they did suit my body well, given my hips; they balanced everything out. Though I do think perhaps I may have pushed the leg opening to more extremes than were necessary. Ok, I don’t think. I know. They used to be a topic of conversation rather frequently.

These jeans, which I found on eBay, are very similar to the type of thing I used to buy, but believe it or not, the flare was much larger. Yes, Also, I was known to trip over myself at times. However, I still find myself drawn to the style, and I’ve gotten some fantastic things at RTC.

Now. I don’t have pictures of myself on this computer, so use your imagination. But see those old school bells? I actually did have a pair that opened up in the leg, just like that, and had plaid “patches” over them. I actually still have them and like them; they are nicer than I’m describing. But… the KA jeans (I got the darker wide flares, mac makeup, but couldn’t find them on PV) and the SV Sofia pants both embody the style that I was so drawn to back in high school. I’m just doing it a lot more….tastefully now.

Now, fortunately I keep a little shimmer in my makeup in controlled doses, but I still love a bit of sparkle in my clothes, too. Since I don’t understand the disappearing items on PV, I worked with what I could find. But, I have the linQ long-sleeved version of the black/gold tank above, which gives me the perfect amount of shimmer. Then, there is the ZENsei hoodie I recently bought adorned with carefully controlled rhinestones. Lastly, the linQ 3/4 Polo with the cutest diamond-esque buttoms. And of course, not pictured here,  is the linQ lurex top with just the right amount of shimmery trim. So, I’m still sparkling bright as ever, just not nearly as gaudily. Lesson learned: A little shimmer=good. Buckets of glitter: BADBADBADBADBADBADBAD.

That being said, I have more up my sleeve, mac makeup wholesale, and hope to share more with you soon!

High School Prom — Big Dreams in a Small Town redtagcrazy.com blog

current sale alerts blog my account

He looks evil here doesn't he?

I switched to a new school my senior year.  I was never popular at either my original school or my new one, so I didn’t get invited to prom and never expected an invitation either.  A month or two before prom, I was really wanting to go just so that I could have the experience.  I wanted to see what all the fuss was about.  I finally decided to ask a guy that had gone to my old school and graduated the previous year to go to prom with me.  After asking him to go with me, we kind of ended up dating…but that’s another story.  This is about the prom — the themes, the dress, the guy…

So, with purple being my favorite color, the dress was of course a shade of purple (I believe it was listed as “lilac”).  It was two pieces, a bodice type top with straps and a bottom with some shimmery fabric.  I really don’t know much about fashion, so it’s kind of hard for me to describe it very well.  I’ll just add a picture to the blog when I’m finished writing.  If I remember right…I bought it online. (Surprise surprise!)  Oh,cheap mac makeup, and an interesting side note, I wore the dress to an office party this past January — that’s right — I can still fit into it!!!  My date brought a blue corsage…I don’t know that it really went with the dress, but I wore it anyway.

I wouldn’t call myself a prom-a-donna…I would have been satisfied to go with the basics — a date and a dress.  I never even wear make-up.  But others tried to go all out on my prom experience.  A lady from church insisted on “doing my makeup” for prom so I ended up having makeup that night.  One of only 3 times in my life I have worn make-up.  The same lady also did my hair.

My mom had to work that night, but her friend insisted that we stop at her house before going to the prom so that she could get pictures.  It turns out once we got to her house, my date’s car had a flat tire.  We borrowed mom’s friend’s truck to go to the prom so we wouldn’t be late for the pictures and James wouldn’t have to get all dirty changing the tire and whatnot.

The prom theme was “Hollywood Nights”.  I’m not sure I was that impressed with it…it had a black color scheme.  Kind of drab in my opinion.  I only danced to the slow songs — I don’t really know how to dance, but I know how to stand and sway from one side to the other

After the prom, was…you guessed it!  The “AFTERPROM”.  Yeah, it wasn’t all that great.  There were some games and stuff.  I think they may have had those blow up sumo wrestler thingies…nothing terribly memorable.  Everyone got a T-Shirt from the afterprom, but by the time I got my shirt, mac makeup wholesale, all they had was XXL…(guess what…that’s not my size!)  I still have it, but I’m thinking of donating it to goodwill or something.

Anyway, afterwards we hung out with my date’s friend some.  I wasn’t very comfortable there so we didn’t stay long.  He took me home and he helped me take down my hair.  I believe I counted like 72 bobby pins.

All-in-all, prom was okay, wholesale mac makeup, but I didn’t think it was all that it had been made out to be.  Now, let’s see if I can figure out uploading pictures on this thing

How to De-Stress Right (Part One) redtagcrazy.com blog

Posted on 19th May 2012 in News

redtagcrazy.com

current sale alerts blog my account

The idea for this blog came to me earlier in the week as I was volunteering at the elementary school my children attend.  Even though I always have a million things going on in my life, but I still try to volunteer at their school.  That morning, it just seemed like one more thing to do would be impossible to manage.  But something I did that morning was such a stress-reliever, I just had to share with everyone else.

Grab some crayons!

Okay, it may sound silly, but coloring can be a fun, and inexpensive, way to de-stress.  Let me tell you why.

The volunteering I was doing at the kids’ school was the Art Masters program.  Basically, once a month or so, the students are all taught about a master of art (this month was Van Gogh), and the parents volunteer to teach the entire class how to make a piece of art similar to the artist’s style.  Even though I am *not* an artist, somehow by following the simple directions, I am able to make a decent piece of art and teach the students to do the same.

As I was learning how to make the project (actually creating my own sample to show the students), I began to feel so relaxed.  Focusing on the strokes of my oil pastel chalks, and not on my hectic schedule, was really peaceful.  Seeing the colors pop on the paper and a landscape coming to life was rewarding.  After just 20 minutes of “playing with chalk”, I walked out of there feeling not as overwhelmed about all the other things I had to do that day… and I was really happy with the little picture I made.  Check it out:

Everyone can find the same kind of benefit with coloring books for grown ups and some crayons, colored pencils, or markers.  That’s right, you don’t have to color pictures of Dora the Explorer or Spiderman.  I found out about these while browsing Amazon one time.  There are coloring books on different themes like florals, fashions of different eras (I want this one for myself), art deco (another one I want), still lifes, celtic designs, geometric patterns, and even coloring books of famous art works.  You can order these online on sites like Amazon or Barnes & Noble, or check out your local bookstore and see if you can pick one up there.  I’ve included some photos below.

The great thing about coloring (or drawing/doodling) is that it is a pretty cheap way to divert your mind for a bit.  At the end of each summer especially, when all the school supplies go on sale (a.k.a. a mom’s favorite time of year), you can grab a box of crayons, mac makeup wholesale, chalks, colored pencils, or markers for next to nothing!  The coloring books themselves are well priced too, especially when you realize that you will get multiple uses with one book.  Another benefit of coloring, cheap mac makeup, is that if you have young children, it is an activity you can do with them.  My kids love when I get down on the floor and color with them, wholesale mac makeup, but coloring teddy bears or Mickey Mouse is not my first choice.  After just a few minutes of coloring, you’ll start to really enjoy yourself and find yourself with a little less stress.

Stay tuned for more ideas on de-stressing…
